About The Villa Rose Homestay Hosts
Richard and Regina settled into Blenheim a few years ago and opened The Villa Rose Homestay Accommodation in February 2010. Richard originally from Waikato moved to the Mainland a number of years ago and shares his passion of the South Island with his partner Regina. Regina (originally from Ireland) moved to New Zealand 12 years ago after falling in love with the country as soon as she arrived here. Richard is a pilot and manages a network of training in Aviation Education. Both Richard and Regina have travelled a lot themselves over their years together.

The accommodation is run mainly by Regina. Having travelled and worked throughout 32 different countries she is an experienced traveler and has being working in the hospitality and tourism sector for 20 years. So she truly understands the needs and wants of her guests and is more than capable of meeting and exceeding those needs.
Regina’s dream for many years now is to run her own accommodation. They bought 16 Eltham Road knowing it was the ideal house to begin this dream and one day begin their family (not too far away from that either).
Although Richard is trained and works in aviation he is quite the handy man building rooms, doors, gardens and anything needed to get to The Villa Rose up and running….
Our beautiful home is full of the weird and wonderful things of interest from different parts of the world we have collected, making our homestay unique and interesting.
Our library has a wide range novels, travel books, alternative spiritual healing and gardening books we are into everything with open minds and open hearts.
Our kitten Charlie adds charm and character as he enjoys having different people around. We are ‘green’ household and choose to recycle as much as possible, we compost what we can, feeding the worm farm down the back and we save energy where possible to protect our stunning environment. We ask our guests to participate in this green endeavour.
